Privacy Policy
ILYF ("we", "the chapter") runs a members-only networking community. The ILYF app exists so that members of a chapter can find each other, pass business referrals, record 1-to-1 meetings, invite visitors and attend chapter meetings. This page says what the app collects, what it is used for and who can see it.
What we collect
- Account: your mobile number, used to sign you in by OTP. Admins may also sign in with a Google account (email address only).
- Profile: your name, photo, designation, company, business category, location, an optional address, date of birth (for birthday wishes), a short "about", and any social links you add. You choose what to fill in beyond your name.
- Activity: referrals you give and receive, 1-to-1 meetings you record, visitors you invite, meeting attendance and RSVPs, business you report on a thank-you slip, and broadcast requests.
- Details of other people you enter: when you pass a referral or invite a visitor you give us that person's name and phone number, and for a visitor their business. You are asked to have their permission first. That person is not a user of the app; their details are visible only to the member you passed them to and to your chapter admins, and are kept as part of the chapter's records until the referral or visit is deleted.
- Device: a push-notification token so the app can notify you, and the usual technical logs Firebase keeps (IP address, device type, timestamps) to run the service.
The app uses the camera only when you scan a meeting QR code or pick a photo. It does not read your contacts, location or messages.
What it is used for
- Running your membership: sign-in, membership status and renewal reminders.
- Showing your profile to other members of your chapter so they can refer business to you and contact you.
- Chapter operations: meeting invitations, attendance, reminders and announcements, in the app and on WhatsApp.
- Chapter reporting: counts of referrals, meetings, visitors and reported revenue, seen by chapter admins.
Who can see it
- Members of your chapter see your profile and contact details, so they can reach you. The app does not show your date of birth to other members, and your notification tokens are stored where only you and the admins can read them.
- Chapter admins and the platform owner see everything above, to run the chapter.
- Service providers: Google Firebase (hosting, database, sign-in, push notifications; data stored in the Mumbai region) and MSG91 (WhatsApp messages). They process data on our behalf and do not use it for their own purposes.
We do not sell your data and do not share it with advertisers.
How long we keep it
For as long as you are a member. When a membership ends, the profile is deactivated and hidden from other members; chapter records (referrals, attendance) are kept for the chapter's history. You can ask for your account to be deleted at any time (see below).
Your choices
- Edit your profile in the app at any time (Me → Edit profile).
- Turn push notifications off in your phone's settings.
- Delete your account using the account deletion page. Deletion removes your profile, your photos, your push tokens and your sign-in; your name on past chapter records (referrals, attendance, thank-you slips) is replaced with "Former member", because those records belong to the chapter's history.
- Ask for a copy of your data or a correction through your chapter admin, at any chapter meeting.
